Combining
EL Wire with clothing creates amazing results and it is fun work. You can really show your creative side wherever you go when
you light your clothing. Lighting clothing is a great hobby and the options are endless. Your creativity and some basic sewing
skills can make for some great lighted clothing effects. Go freestyle or follow natural design lines when working with your
EL Wire clothing.
To install EL Wire on your clothing, hand sew it, install grommets and run the wire through,
use plastic tubing as a guide for the EL Wire, or experiment with different glues. You can create patterns with grommets for
unique lighted clothing. You can also use binding on the edges of your fabric. Just keep the EL Wire in the binding and you
can machine sew safely and quickly. Make sure to test your binding to be sure that you can see the EL Wire through it. White
and light colors work best.
Remember to sew a pocket into your EL Wire clothing for the inverter and batteries.
Choose a spot where your clothing hangs freely so that you don't see the inverter bulge. A secure velcro, zipper, or fold
over top keeps the inverter and batteries in place no matter how much you move.

You can hand wash properly sealed EL Wire garments. Just remove the inverter and battery pack first. Hang the garments
to dry. EL Wire is waterproof as long as the ends are sealed with heatshrink. EL Wire and inverters are not dangerous but
they can give you a little shock if you don't seal your connections properly. There is so little power that it can't hurt
you.
EL Wire clothing is fully functional. You can take a ski jacket and wire it with EL Wire, and then add a strober
inverter. When you are skiing or snowboarding you will look like a blur because of the strobe inverter. This is a very cool
effect when you see it on a night skier! Also use EL Wire with strobe inverters in your snow hats or any other hat. The strobe
effect is great on the dance floor.
